Rules governing the NCRLL listserv as to appropriate standards of professional discourse

  1. As an unmoderated listserv of the NCRLL professional organization, it functions to share information and inquiries relevant to the field of language and literacy research.
  2. Our fundamental discourse rule for the NCRLL listserv: All replies should be responsive to the topic of information or inquiry.  Being responsive would require that any queries following a request or conveyance of information would be relevant to the topic so raised.
  3. To violate any straightforward discourse norms will be viewed as a form of communication through implicature and thus has no place as part of communication on the NCRLL listserv.
  4. Finally, we will not tolerate postings that could interpreted as hostile to individuals. Respect and professionalism drive our organization and our commitment to language and literacy education.
